Built for data. Grounded in community.
We build with communities, not just in them. We bring more than digital infrastructure. From environmental initiatives to local partnerships, we’re committed to leaving a positive, lasting legacy.
Community snapshot
Data centers do not operate in isolation. We are part of every community in which we build—taking responsibility from day one for energy and water use, air quality, and noise.

"Being a good neigbor is fundamental to how we operate. Every data center is designed with long-term sustainability in mind—going beyond our developments to support local ecosystems and create measurable, lasting impact."

"As a digital infrastructure leader, Prime is compelled to do our part in creating a world that thrives, where technology and sustainability advance together."

Our six commitment pillars
Every commitment we make is specific and actionable. We publish them openly so communities can verify what we do, not just what we say.
- Energy
- Water Usage
- Air Quality
- Noise Reduction
- Biodiversity
- Local Initiatives

100%
energy infrastructure upgrade costs attributable to our facilities paid by Prime
Energy
We fund 100% of energy infrastructure upgrades attributable to our data centers – never passing costs on to rate payers.
We pursue ENERGY STAR® certification for all our US-based operating data centers, providing independent validation of energy efficiency.

Water Usage
We use closed-loop cooling systems which continuously reuse water, resulting in near-zero water usage effectiveness (WUE). While every project differs, one of our new 100MW data centers is estimated to consume less water annually than three US homes, less than half of a mid-sized office and under 1% of a regional golf course.
For the limited water we do use, we invest annually in water restoration projects that replenish 120% of the total withdrawals of our operating data centers.

70%
Reduction in lifecycle carbon emissions
Air Quality
We use renewable diesel* exclusively to run our back-up generators, significantly reducing pollution:
- Lifecycle carbon emissions: reduced by 70%
- Particulate matter: reduced by 34%
- Carbon monoxide: reduced by 12%
- Nitrous oxides: reduced by 10%
Aside from power outages, generators at our operating data centers are run for routine maintenance and testing, averaging around 30 minutes per unit per month.
*In colder climates, renewable diesel blends may be used to ensure reliability. In emergencies, traditional diesel may be required if renewable fuel is not immediately available.
Noise Reduction
We conduct acoustic modeling and continually measure sound at the perimeter of our property lines to ensure compliance with maximum permitted noise levels.

Biodiversity
We maintain beehives at all our data centers to support pollinators and promote biodiversity. We host on-site educational events for the community to learn more about our biodiversity program.

Local Initiatives
We work closely with local communities to identify long-term initiatives where we can provide meaningful support. We are committed to focusing on sustained partnerships rather than one-off charitable contributions.

The standards that guide our approach
These commitments define the way we operate and how we engage with the communities surrounding our data centers.

Transparency by default
We make our commitments public so our communities can see our intentions and how we are progressing over time.
Long-term by design
Our approach is built for the long-term, with initiatives designed to be consistent, sustainable and deliver lasting value.
Clear and actionable
We focus on commitments that are practical, meaningful and grounded in real action.
Continuous improvement
We regularly review and refine our approach, building on what works and improving where needed.
