CHICAGO DATA CENTER TAX INCENTIVES

As digital infrastructure becomes more expensive, regions offering incentives are becoming extremely desirable for data-driven organizations and data center providers alike.

In Illinois and Elk Grove Village, qualifying data center projects like Prime Chicago are extended a state and local sales tax exemption on data center equipment for 10 years. To qualify, the project must have an investment of $250 million or more (in the facility) and create 20 full-time jobs. Cost of power in Chicago is also lower than most other tier 1 markets. The result? Operators and their customers can significantly reduce their overall total cost of ownership.
